H. Upmann Regalias Cuban Cigars
- Size: 5 1/8 x 42
- Strength: Mild – Medium
It has a nice construction and burns very well. It is a perfect cigar for a morning smoke, or an afternoon smoke, that can appeal both to seasoned smokers and newcomers to Habanos. The cigar has a nice complexity of flavors, toasty tobacco, cedar, coffee, sweetness of honey, some spices, some leather and some floral note.
About H. Upmann Cigars
Herman Upmann was a banker from Germany who so loved Cuban cigars that he moved to Havana in 1844 and set up as both a banker and cigar maker. His bank closed in the early 1920’s but his cigars live on as a fine example of an elegant, light to medium flavoured Habano. H. Upmann’s blend s composed exclusively of filler and binder tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone. Made using the Tripa Larga, Totalmente a Mano – long filler, totally by hand technique.

These are a great smoke for the price just like the Majestics. I have smoked thousands of each one. I find the Regalias draw a little better than the Majestics. I don’t recall ever having a bad one out of the box. They are priced so the working man can afford them, but I must say of late, the price of all the Cubans are going up very fast. I hope this will not continue. A nice Cigar after a meal which is the best time for most.

These were nice cigars and great tasting however, many of the cigars in the box were possibly oversized resulting in the cigars appearing to be box pressed and being very tight with a difficult draw.

I found these to be a nice smoke when you got one that had a decent draw but I was very disappointed in the amount in the box of 25 that were so bad they were un smokable with the tight to totally plugged draw. Two thirds of them which is a lot.

5/5 for Cigar Chief. These Regalias get a 3.5/5 if I could add half a star. Box from Feb 18 ordered in the summer and I’ve smoked two thirds, going to age the rest another year. Nice tasty smoke, hints of cream, spice, earth. I think they certainly have development potential. A good 50 minute burn time depending on humidity. Some of these were tightly rolled, so needed some draw tool attention. Otherwise no biggy.

Not quite a 4 star, 3.5. The top half of the box was a bit dry, I think it was sitting in high temps with low humidity due to some green spotting. I also dislike the idiotic new packaging and labeling of cigars in Canada.
As for the smoking experience, the cigar burned well.
The draw was not tight, very smooth. Spicy with a taste of earth, coffee and honey. Allowing the addition of photos to the reviews here might be an idea
Cigar Chief was outstanding!

A mild-medium cigar. A bit of a tight draw with an excellent even burn. I agree with the flavors other have noted. Overall an 89.
