Nice light/mild smoke with a decent draw. Had to cut it a couple times to sort that out. First time smoking a pyramid but it won’t be the last. Loving the amazing construction of the AF’s. Great variety in the brand. Working my way through them.

I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy A.F. cigars in the past and they are a most respected brand. But who really wants to spend $25 + shipping for a nice light smoke? The presentation was impressive. Wrapped in cellophane and sealed with a decorative numbered registration sticker, the cigar is wrapped in cedar paper with a red ribbon at the foot. The cigar band is ornate and the wrapper smooth and silky. However, what I have known for 40 years remains true, that price and fancy packaging does not make for an exceptional cigar. Ever notice how understated the Montecristo #2 cigar band is? Its greatness lies with the cigar itself. With this A.F. Torpedo I found the flavour lacked the complexity in its description. It was a good cigar. Burned well, good draw with just the right resistance, with a mild slightly sweet taste. Was it better than most of the budget sticks I’ve enjoyed this season? Some of them, yes. Most of them, NO. For what I paid for this torpedo, I could’ve purchased 3 to 4 excellent budget price cigars. Flavour wise, I was not expecting a Monte Cristo #2 but I was expecting more flavour and complexity. I will not purchase these again. I give it 4 out of 5 stars for overall flavour and quality, but given the highly competitive cigar market, and compared to so many other high-quality offerings at a much better price, I can only give it 2 stars.
