AJ Fernandez New World Dorado Robusto is a medium-bodied Nicaraguan puro that highlights the golden-hued tobaccos grown on AJ Fernandez’s Dorado farm in Estelí. This 5 1/2 x 52 box-pressed Robusto is handmade at the San Lotano factory in Nicaragua and offers a balanced, richly textured smoke with natural sweetness, earth, coffee, and measured spice.
A sun-grown Nicaraguan Habano wrapper from the Dorado farm surrounds a Nicaraguan Criollo ’98 binder, also grown on the farm. The all-Nicaraguan filler blend includes Dorado farm tobacco along with select leaves from Estelí and Condega, creating a profile that is refined, flavorful, and distinctly Nicaraguan.
Expect notes of earth, coffee, cedar, leather, roasted nuts, caramel, cocoa, black pepper, red pepper, oak, and warm baking spice. The soft box-pressed shape feels comfortable in the hand, while the 52 ring gauge produces a cool draw and a steady, even burn.
New World Dorado Robusto is a versatile choice for smokers who enjoy a balanced Nicaraguan cigar with depth but without overwhelming strength. It pairs especially well with espresso, bourbon, aged rum, dark beer, or a rich coffee.

I love AJ cigars, but this one i put lower on my list of favorites from his catalog.
I really wanted to like this cigar and maybe I got my hopes up too high.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent cigar if you like linear med strength cigars.
The construction is good but the draw I found a bit too open and loose, it smoked faster than I would like.
Flavour profile is leather with some peppery leather and a touch of nuts near the end with more leather.
Frankly this cigar I found boring compared to others of the new world line.
If your into med strength cigars then I would recommend the new world cameroon over this cigar.
I am a die hard AJ fan and will continue to enjoy his products but I do not think the dorado is a box worthy purchase.

Very good cigar. Great cedar, citrus, light coffee , pepper and wood and dry cocoa notes. Starts off medium ends medium full. Smooth and creamy till the end.
