The Alec Bradley Project 40 Maduro Toro features a dark Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper over a Brazilian Habano binder. It delivers a deep, roasted profile with a medium to full body in a 6 x 52 format. As the second release in the Experimental Series, it puts a darker spin on the original Project 40.
The earthy, mineral rich San Andrés wrapper works with the naturally sweet Brazilian Habano binder and bold Nicaraguan long fillers. Roasted coffee leads the flavour, followed by notes of chocolate and leather. Hints of vanilla and sweet malt add a softer counterpoint to the darker flavours.
This Toro carries the official 06.52 designation. Its 6 inch length and 52 ring gauge give the blend more room than the Robusto, so the coffee and chocolate notes build gradually over a longer smoke. A rough, slightly oily wrapper gives it a rustic look, and it pairs naturally with an espresso or an aged dark rum.
The Alec Bradley Project 40 Maduro Toro is handmade at the J. Fuego factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, the same factory that produces the original Project 40. It suits smokers who want richer, deeper flavour than the original blend while keeping its distinctive Brazilian binder.
