Brick House Toro 5-Cigar Fresh Pack Sampler
- Size: 6 x 52
- Strength: Various
J.C. Newman introduced the Brick House brand, drawing inspiration from his childhood home, which stood out as the only brick house in his quaint Hungarian village. This house was more than just a dwelling; it was a gathering spot where locals and visitors congregated every evening to eat, drink, smoke, and enjoy each other’s company. However, the advent of the Great Depression marked the discontinuation of the Brick House brand.
Decades later, over 80 years in fact, Bobby and Eric Newman, the grandsons of J.C. Newman, revived the Brick House using premium Nicaraguan tobaccos. Brick House cigars became an overnight sensation, evolving into a national bestseller and one of the most buzzed-about cigars in the industry. To celebrate this legacy, we present the Brick House Toro Sampler Fresh Pack. This sampler contains five cigars, all that have earned 90+ ratings. Conveniently packed in a resealable pouch, it ensures that wherever you choose to gather – be it for food, drink, or delightful company – you’ll have access to excellently crafted, fresh, and flavorful cigars.
The Brick House Toro Sampler Fresh Pack of 5 Cigars includes:
2 x Brick House Double Connecticut Toro (Mild-Medium). The first Connecticut in this cigar is a juicy and flavourful Broadleaf binder utilized to contain the wealth of Nicaraguan longleaf filler at the core of each vitola. The second is a creamy Connecticut Shade wrapper which grants the smoke a cool, refined character. The aroma from each barrel is characteristically Shade, namely grassy with a touch of barnyard, but the Broadleaf binder does waft through with hints of cocoa. Beginning mild and sweet, a lit Double Connecticut Toro delivers ample smoke containing the flavours of cedar, leather, nutmeg, and a touch of honey. The strength rises slowly throughout the straight, long burn, accompanied by walnut, espresso, bittersweet chocolate, allspice, and citrus.
2 x Brick House Maduro Toro (Medium-Full). This blend uses the same highly rated Nicaraguan filler and binder blend as the original, but includes a dark, oily maduro wrapper leaf. This isn’t just any maduro, however. The leaf chosen for this blend is a Brazilian Arapiraca leaf, known for its robust body and bold spicy character. A soft, easy draw produces bountiful clouds of blue smoke, greeting the palate with enormous flavor on every puff. Bold spice is the first phase, soon followed by a creamy medley of earthy tobacco and cocoa. This builds the bulk of the flavour profile, and along the way hints of cedar and brown sugar are detectable.
1 x Brick House Toro (Medium-Full). For this cigar Eric and Bobby Newman use a Nicaraguan filler and binder blend and a unique Ecuadoran Havana Subido wrapper leaf. The construction is great—it is a JC Newman cigar after all—and performance is always on point, with an easy draw and boatloads of creamy white smoke. A noticeable, yet subdued dose of white pepper starts things off, soon evolving into a sweet and earthy medley of cinnamon, coffee, and cedar. Hints of coconut flavour roll into the nose and bursts of nutmeg and maple are noticeable throughout the experience. The entire flavour profile revolves around a sweet tobacco core that brings back so many memories of the cigars of old.
