Rojas Cigars Peruvian Gold Aged 5+ Years
- Size: 6 x 46
- Strength: Medium
Tasting Notes: The body has fresh-cut oak, vanilla, and faint cinnamon. The foot is dried florals. The cold draw is dried peaches, red pepper, salt, and cocoa butter. The first third starts with oak, honey, black and white pepper, bourbon barrel, vanilla, and sandalwood. It starts softly and progresses in flavor throughout the entire cigar. The second third sees notes of confectioners’ sugar, honey, cinnamon, fried dough, honeysuckle, and the retro has charred wood and black pepper. This thing is a flavor bomb. In the final third, things get intense. I get notes of all of the above except now they are mending together and becoming concentrated. Sugars and cinnamon, oaks and woods, floral intensity, sweet, salty, and umami. I could not rate this cigar any better. I am so impressed.
Pairing Notes: Vanilla custard. Bourbon. Bourbon. Bourbon. Sweet tea. Black tea. Cognac. Peaty scotch. Ginger ale. Butterscotch. Churro. Anything cinnamon. Anything vanilla.
