Ever hear someone say, “that is not as good as it used to be?” Or, “that brand is not as good as it used to be?” What you are about to smoke is a cigar that was once famous but has since moved factories. I’ll never be able to tell you what it was, but I can tell you what it is now: the WAVY WAFER. I could have done a ghost series with this but man oh man, that name kept calling me every time I smoked it. Although chocolate syrup is the dominant flavor for me, there was always this reminder of a waffle cone or a vanilla wafer. These are the finest San Andres wrappers with the best Nicaraguan tobaccos. How could we go wrong? This cigar is a testament to the uniqueness and flavor of Aganorsa tobacco. Aged almost 1 year, the cigar is truly ripe and ready to smoke. Remember, this is a legendary blend and we are lucky to get this in our box! Shout out to Aganorsa on social media!
Tasting Notes: The body is barnyard, cotton candy, and floral notes. The foot is Hershey’s chocolate syrup and hazelnut. The cold draw is hay, roasted hazelnut, and chocolate syrup. The first third starts with chocolate syrup, waffle cone, vanilla wafer, red pepper, charred cedar, and florals like hibiscus and cherry blossom. Further in, I get red pepper, cherry coke, chocolate syrup, vanilla, herbs, chocolate syrup, and black pepper on the retro. In the second third, I get more cedar, vanilla, cocoa, shea butter creaminess, and that ice cream cone thing comes back. The pepper has died down. In the final third, I get cola, herbs, salt, earth, white pepper, and vanilla sweetness that comes back at the very end along with hints of cocoa. WOW. WOW. WOW.
Pairing Notes: Vanilla ice cream cone. Cream soda. Egg cream soda. Anything with Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Anything vanilla. White chocolate. Dark rum. Chocolate stout or porter. After chocolate cakes and desserts. With vanilla wafers and light roast coffee. Strawberries. Blueberries. After homemade whipped cream.
