The Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Seleccion Privada No 1 Maduro stands out for its Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper paired with the Fuente family’s meticulously aged Dominican filler and binder, delivering a refined and consistently balanced profile. This wrapper choice is the defining differentiator, adding depth and richness while maintaining the elegance the Gran Reserva line is known for.
Handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, this vitola is built with the construction standards that have defined Arturo Fuente for generations. The draw is smooth and dependable, supporting a long and steady burn that allows the blend to develop evenly from start to finish. Expect a medium bodied character with layered flavour and a composed, polished feel throughout the smoke.
Measuring 6 3 4 x 44, the Seleccion Privada No 1 offers a classic format that highlights wrapper influence without overpowering the core Dominican tobacco. Each cigar reflects the Fuente family’s commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and tradition, with every piece undergoing strict inspection before earning the Fuente name.

Punch cut
1/3 – Strength and body is mild; it is a gentle and delicate smoke, nothing aggressive. Notes of coffee with cream and wood with some tannins. Hint of spice on the palate for the finish. Also picked up some citrus note well into the first third.
2/3 – Pretty much the same notes but with a mild-medium body. The coffee note got darker into espresso with crema territory.
3/3 – Taste profile is the same with a longer lasting finish. When too close to the end, the metallic taste takes over.
Overall – I enjoyed this cigar, great with good company and with a good conversation. If paired with a spirit, I would recommend something delicate that doesn’t overpower this cigar, perhaps a Lowland or a Speyside scotch. I think even Irish would pair well such as Red Breast which has the sweet graham cracker profile. Personally, I would give it 88/100.

Sparked this one up after a Tobacconist Blend Maduro and can not Express how impressed I am. I have never been able to retro hale a full sized cigar, and this one is an absolute joy to. The flavours are right up my alley, very sweet and pleasant like a Maduro should be, however very mild and delicious.
