About Calixto López Cigars
It begins toward the end of the 17th century. The Spanish galleon San Clemente on the Acapulco-Manila trade route brought 200 ounces of Cuban tobacco seeds to the shores of the Philippine islands. These exquisite seeds propitiously found their way into the hands of the Spanish missionaries. Aside from sowing the seeds of the Catholic faith, the Spanish friars took it upon themselves to cultivate the tobacco seeds in Cagayan Valley, Isabela, a fertile region north of Manila, named after Queen Isabela of Spain.
With land as rich and climate as favorable as that of Cuba’s, tobacco-growing soon flourished throughout the Philippine archipelago and gave birth to a burgeoning cigar-making industry under colonial Spain.
To this day, how Tabacalera Incorporada manufactures cigars remains unchanged – totalmente hecho a mano or totally hand-made. Some of its wood presses are over a hundred years old.
For those who doubt the Philippine cigar’s quality, Filipinos may point to the words of famed British writer Rudyard Kipling, who attested its excellence with a stanza in his 1886 poem “The Betrothed”. “Open the old cigar box – let me consider a while,” he wrote. “Here is a mild Manila – there is a wifely smile.”

Not bad at all especially considering the price point. Decent mild-medium flavours. Burned well. Solid construction and smoke production. Worth a smoke!

Good flavor, good wrap and exceptional price for value.

The amount of value in this cigar is amazing. Fantastic construction with some delicious flavours in a fairly mild smoke. Waiting for these to get back in stock. Definitely a favorite of mine.

Even if this cigar was twice the price it was a great smoke! Also very mild without any over the top pepper taste. If you’re just getting started into cigars try this one for sure. Very smooth and easy to smoke.

My go-to cigar for handing over to friends that don’t smoke(cigars), it’s just so easy to enjoy. Not sure why, but it seems like no matter the occasion I just don’t want it to end. I’ve never walked away from one of these sticks unfinished.
Always burns even, nice band underneath the band wrapper, tapered tip really comfortable, every cigar exactly the same as the rest. 10/10

What an amazing cigar. Well rolled, great feel in the hand and smokes beautifully.
The flavour is incredible. I can’t wait for them to come back in stock.
Absolute bargain, load up on these if you get the chance.
I like these more than $400 bundles.

This has became my go to cigar if I am entertaining a big group

Decent price point, but not the best for this price. Tends to canoe at the start. One in three has issue with drag past the halfway point. Baracoas are better at a lower price point in my opinion.

Truly an amazing value. This cigar had a fantastic easy draw, smooth smoke, almost sweet. Good burn down to the very nub. On the mild side of Mild-Medium. More boxes on the way for this one! I would recommend this to anyone.

honestly, i thought i took one of my more expensive cigars, its damn smooth, light tasting, perfect for newcomers imo, and just down right great… no drink needed for this one guys. so smooth…. longer smoke time, perfect burn, flavor, and price point, will buy more.

These are junk. They burn uneven and canoe all the time. Glad I only bought 5. They’re not the greatest tasting either. I will not buy again.

I am not a big fan of Cuban cigars since I find them harsh with a strong after taste. So for the past couple of years I’ve been looking for that one mild cigar that is perfect in every sense. I think I finally found it, in the Philippines! Who would’ve thought. Those cigars have no after taste, no harsh smell, grear flavour and a perfect burn everytime. 👌🏼

Just got a box of these and as mentioned in the other reviews they are indeed worth it. They do have a bit of that Cuban flavor to them. Even burn all throughout. I would put them as a mild to mild medium. Taste picks up towards last half. Very friendly cigar.

To put it mildly, pun intended, I agree with all the 5 star reviews with nothing to add.

I really don’t like this one. I bought a bundle of 5. Smoked one as soon as I received them and it was terrible, the whole stick cracked open and it had terrible flavour.
Not wanting to judge right away I stashed the rest in my humidor to see maybe it was because the cigars were too dry. I smoked another one after two weeks, and another after a month. The burn definitely got better, neither one cracked open like the first one, but I can’t say that the construction is good either.
One thing that didn’t change was the flavour. I had a very strong and overpowering bitterness that lasted through the entire smoking session, and it got stronger towards the end. I generally smoke my cigars right to the butt, for this one I just couldn’t. That bitterness masked any sort of flavour the cigar might otherwise have, and it held true for all three that I smoked so far.
Would not recommend.

Good flavor but a little bit dry. Good price.
