CAO Maduro Robusto has a wrapper fermented under extreme heat for three months until it becomes rich and dark, in a box pressed 5 x 50 format. It was launched for CAO’s 30th birthday and is rated medium to full in strength.
The dark wrapper burns evenly with a razor thin carbon ring and covers an Ecuadorian binder and a blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos. It delivers robust, earthy flavours with nuances of cinnamon and a lavish finish. At medium to full strength, it suits smokers who enjoy a bolder cigar.
The 5 x 50 robusto keeps the commitment manageable. CAO Maduro Robusto is rolled at CAO’s factory in Nicaragua, where each cigar is draw tested and weighed to help ensure a perfect draw, burn and construction.
The line is known as L’Anniversaire and was one of the first box pressed cigars and one of the first extremely high rated maduros. CAO goes where the tobacco takes it, sourcing leaf from the jungles of the Amazon, the mountains of Colombia, the valleys of the Dominican Republic and the volcanoes of Nicaragua. Removing boundaries, borders and limits from the process leaves a tobacco experience unlike any other.

Bought a few of these and I will definitely go after more. This cigar is smooth and draws nicely. I used the strait cutter. The flavor is earthy and nutty. The cigar is pretty consistent throughout the smoke. I honestly was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
I hesitate in giving a 5 star simply because I think there is better cigars. But for the price it is in the top of the class. I would give this 8.5 out of 10.

I’m newish to Cigars, what’s good to me may be a little off. Heres the rundown. Sat in my humidor at 64RH for about. Week. Lit at 917 and burned perfectly until 1022. Wasn’t too strong and was a great way to sip some tea and listen to a podcast. Smoked nicely to the end, didn’t get bitter or harsh. I’d say for $14 I’d be happy to purchase again.
