Casa Turrent 1880 Claro Double Robusto is the lightest blend of the 1880 series, built around a Mexican Habano Criollo San Andrés claro wrapper in a 6 1/2 x 55 format. It is rated Mild to Medium in strength.
A Mexican Negro San Andrés binder sits under the claro wrapper, and the filler is a mix of Mexican and Dominican tobaccos. That combination keeps the smoke approachable while still showing the character of San Andrés leaf. The Casa Turrent 1880 series was introduced in four blends, Claro, Colorado, Oscuro and Maduro, each presented in the 6 1/2 x 55 Double Robusto size.
The Turrent family grows its own Mexican San Andrés tobacco, and it is known as the first family of Mexican tobacco. The wrapper rests for five years, while the binder and fillers mature between 10 and 12 years before rolling. It comes from the same company that brought you Te Amo cigars, and from the oldest and largest grower in Mexico.
At Mild to Medium strength, suiting smokers who want flavour without heavy strength and who appreciate a large, elegant Toro size. The 55 ring gauge gives a cool, generous draw for an unhurried session.

A Mexican tobacco cigar that is light to medium profile in robustnous and stench. The after taste of a Mexican tobacco is not my favourite but being that it’s light enough to taste, it works well for my preference. Not sure if I would purchase a box at a time, but certainly a cigar that I would not mind having 5 or so to go to once in a while.
