Cigar Chief x Freud Chapter 1 Limited Edition Robusto cigars are a collector focused Dominican puro created through a collaboration between Cigar Chief and Freud Cigar Co. Blended by Eladio Diaz and handcrafted at Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera in the Dominican Republic, this medium bodied 5 1/2 x 52 Robusto uses Dominican tobacco for its wrapper, binder and long filler.
The all Dominican blend delivers a smooth, composed profile built around cream, cedar, toasted nuts and gentle spice. Its carefully balanced tobacco selection produces a refined texture and even burn, allowing woody depth and coffee notes to emerge without overwhelming the cigar’s natural sweetness. The generous 52 ring gauge adds a full mouthfeel while preserving the elegant, medium strength character of the blend.
The cigar begins with cream, cedar and hazelnut before developing coffee, light earth and soft leather. White pepper, cinnamon and clove add subtle spice through the middle, followed by a clean finish of oakwood, nuts and sweet tobacco. I agree with Nicholas the cigar was rollled very well and the box looks beautiful but the flavour was very ammonia like and had no flavour just a tongue bite. Eladio Diaz may be the greatest Dominican master blender from davidoff but he’s definitely not got the same great tobaccos like he used to. Here’s hoping if I age these for a few years for much needed rest they transform into a different cigar

I was really looking forward to trying this one since I have liked all the Chief’s cigars that I have had so far. When I pulled the cellophane off the whole cap fell right off and the wrapper started unraveling, which didnt get us off to a good start. Things only went downhill from there, the cigar was almost totally plugged the draw was so tight and the burn was all over the place with constant touch ups. The little flavour I got seemed decent but nothing stood out that would make me want to try revisit this, especially at the asking price. The regular Chief Maduro’s are twice the cigar for less than half the price.

Bought 40 of these, have had 5….everyone has had the burn of the worst cigars I have ever smoked…I let them age in my humidor for a year and they are still garbage…$500 waste they seem machine rolled as they all have a dense side section the causes instant cratering on every frequent relight…truly sad! I would rate them a one if they were five bucks each!
