Freud AlterEgo Robusto cigars showcase rare Dominican Pelo de Oro tobacco in a bold 5 x 50 format. Blended by Eladio Diaz and handcrafted at Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera in the Dominican Republic, this medium to full bodied Robusto features a dark Mexican San Andrés Negro wrapper, an Indonesian Sumatra binder and a complex Dominican long filler blend.
The Mexican San Andrés wrapper provides deep earth, bitter cocoa, espresso and natural sweetness, while the Sumatra binder adds spice and aromatic lift. Dominican Pelo de Oro, Corojo Original, Havana 92 and barrel aged Piloto Cubano fillers create a layered profile of cedar, leather, oakwood, black tea and dark fruit. The barrel aged Piloto Cubano brings further richness and a smooth texture that keeps the cigar balanced despite its fuller character.
The cigar opens with earth, toasted cedar and black pepper before developing leather, coffee, bitter cocoa and hickory. Floral notes, mineral character and subtle brown sugar sweetness emerge through the middle, followed by a finish of oakwood, dark chocolate and fresh spice. Freud AlterEgo Robusto pairs well with espresso, aged rum, bourbon, a dark beer or a full flavoured single malt Scotch whisky.

Dave –
Got one in my subscription box. Flavor wasn’t bad, but the construction was brutal. Had to work on it with a draw tool for 5 minutes and even then I had to suck on it like an antidote was in it. Not sure about their QC.
