About H. Upmann Cigars
Herman Upmann was a banker from Germany who so loved Cuban cigars that he moved to Havana in 1844 and set up as both a banker and cigar maker. His bank closed in the early 1920’s but his cigars live on as a fine example of an elegant, light to medium flavoured Habano. H. Upmann’s blend s composed exclusively of filler and binder tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone. Made using the Tripa Larga, Totalmente a Mano – long filler, totally by hand technique

I received two tins for Xmas from the mother-in-law. I really enjoyed this small cigar to start off – not to long for a newbie to handle and the flavour was smooth but had that Cuban “twang” to it. The price point makes buying these a lot more affordable from Cigar Chief then any B&M I found locally. As always fast shipping and great prices! These are a great winter smoke. Good for about 20 minutes and classic Habanos personality. I would have given them a 5 except that the construction has been average on the two that I have smoked with some serious ‘canoeing’. I would order more. Very handy to have in the collection and reasonable price.

H. Upmann has recently become one of my favourite Cuban cigar brands. This is was my fourth stick from the their line up. I have just received a couple of these short coronas and I must say that the flavour was spectacular. Cedar, earthy, baking spice, nutmeg, cream and pepper are the notes that stood out the most to me. This is a fantastic 30-40 minute smoke and I think might be one of the best Cubans for this price point I have had to date.
The only gripe was that it was a tight roll but since that seems to be common in Cubans these days I still give it a 5 star review. I believe that this cigar would only get better with age. If you had any doubts about picking up this cigar or a box – don’t, you wont regret it.

Délicieux et agréable en bouche. Je trouve qu’ils ne se fument pas trop vite pour des « Haft Havana ». En plus d’être élégants, ils sentent très bon. On se sent à Cuba lorsqu’on en fume un.

4 out of the 5 of the cigars were so tight I couldn’t get smoke out. The only one that wasn’t too tight was very enjoyable. would have been a 5/5 if they were rolled properly. sad…

I’ve smoked more than 500 of these in my life and I’ve only ever had 1 bad one. By far the most enjoyable, consistent cigar I’ve ever smoked. If you can manage to keep them moist for a week without molding, you’ll add another 5mins smoke time per 1 degree over 69percent humidity. I smoke these all winter long at 73 (I know it’s moist, but typically you can get away with this in Canadian winters if you’re smoking them within 2 weeks). Depending on your variables, you can get 40mins out of this little powerhouse at 73.
