Joya de Nicaragua Rosalones Reserva 550
- Size: 5 x 50
- Strength: Medium
Rosalones is one of the original brands produced since the beginnings of Joya de Nicaragua. It has been considered the smaller brother of the Joya de Nicaragua Clásico. Returning to the market at the end of 2010, after two decades of rest, Rosalones is an affordable alternative to Nicaragua’s taste. Rosales Reserva sets itself apart from everyday cigars due to its impeccable appearance and performance. A brand born to be accessible is now a class act, romantic as a rosa and sharp as it thorns.

Pretty decent and smooth low-med strength. Burns very well, excellent for the price

Excellent smoke from Joya, not as popular as the rest but definately box worthy

I found the taste to be mild, and at times medium. It burned evenly with a more peppery earthy flavour, however the draw was only okay, and it came apart towards the end.

I liked this one – good draw, taste, and burn. The original band was under the plain one, too. Not too expensive ($11.71 as of writing), I’ll probably buy some more in the future.

Burns even, solid ash. 1st third was exquisite, perfect balance, some wood, some sugar, some spice (just enough to keep the tongue awake), a bit creamy as well. 2nd third appeared earthy notes and sugar seems to lower pretty much. 3rd third remains pretty much the same maybe less earthy, better balance than 2nd third. Remained interesting all the way but the pairing might have something to do with it. This first stick was paired with Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Next stick will be paired with Red Breast Lustau and/or Eldorado 12. I will let you know the outcome then. Is it a buy again? Yes, on occasion, at this price.
