Magno Inception Habano Cigarillos
- Size: 4 1/2 x 38
- Strength: Medium
With Habano Natural wrapper, the cigar distinguishes itself visually and also by its strength and its flavor profile.
The cigar has a silky smooth wrapper with a seamless appearance. The pre-light aroma was full of hay and sweet almond notes. A very smooth draw gives way to slight black pepper on the palate. The cigar eventually lends way to a creamy texture to the palate and nose. Well balanced with a clean taste and full flavoured smoke. To the end it continues to offer flavour with sweet nutty undertones that allows for lasting impression. Rich in character yet doesn’t overwhelm the senses. A Medium overall body that smokes effortlessly.

The Magno Inception is a very well, tightly wrapped cigar which burns slow for its size and has a tight draw, leading to a light smoke. Initial burst of pepper before turning quite nutty and light in the first third. The smell profile is quite light. Would pair nicely with a light white wine to compliment, or a peaty scotch like a lagavulin to help boost the smokiness of a seating. Otherwise this would be a lovely cigar with a flat white in the morning for a lighter start to the day. By the 2/3 the flavour mellows out and is quite enjoyable for a lighter smoker. I’d almost say it reminds me of smoking a light cigarette compared to even a cigarillo, being lighter in nature, due to the lightness of the smoke. The final 3/3 the flavour really thickens and feels a lot more full flavour and regains it’s pepper tones (especially in the nose) and an earthier body like bark. Mouth feel is almost thick on the teeth and tongue like a full bodies red wine
Overall, I wasn’t a fan at first, but the 2/3 made me really enjoy the rest of the journey with a surprisingly full body finish. Something I would give to someone who doesn’t have experience with cigars with a low price point as it provides a good strong flavour at first, that introduces the idea of smoking stronger cigars, but mellows out to allow enjoyment of a first cigar without being overwhelmed with flavour until the end, which prepares the smoker for it. In comparison, a Guantanamera decimos is just a tad longer, a bit more flavour, and a faster smoke, but also comes from a completely different region (and also a bit more expensive), so not a direct comparison, but both I would consider as introductory cigars for the new smoker. I have one more, which I will enjoy for a weekend brunch with a bagel and machiato, and if I have the chance to buy more I might, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find them.
One final note; not a finger burner. It’s alright, but I’m happy to put it down after I have finished unlike some other cigars which I would smoke till nothing remained.
