Padrón 1926 Series No. 9 Maduro stands out for its five year aged Nicaraguan tobaccos and dark Habano Maduro wrapper that deliver an exceptionally smooth yet full bodied profile in a box pressed 5 1/4 x 56 format. This Nicaraguan puro layers rich flavours of dark chocolate, espresso, earth, nuts, cedar, and pepper, with touches of dried fruit and brown sugar sweetness that build in complexity as you smoke. The oily Maduro wrapper adds depth and tangy sweetness, while the draw, burn, and ash are consistently superb, helping this No. 9 earn multiple 90 plus ratings and a legendary 97 point Cigar of the Year accolade.
Created to commemorate José O. Padrón’s 75th birthday, the 1926 Series uses carefully selected tobaccos aged for at least five years, then box pressed and finished with a double band bearing an individually numbered guarantee label for authenticity. In the No. 9 Maduro, this results in a dense, luxurious smoke that suits special occasions and long evening sessions for aficionados who enjoy chocolate forward, coffee rich profiles framed by spice, cedar, and a very long finish.
Box of 24 or 10 cigars

I bought two of these, one for smoking now and one for aging a year, as I was told this was the “Gold Standard” of Non-Cuban cigars.
Keep in mind I have not smoked the aging one yet, but I did not enjoy this cigar nearly as much as the 1964 anniversary stick. I remember tasting a slight hint of ash the entire smoke. For the most part it was enjoyable, but not even in my top 10.
For my money go with the Padron 1964 Anniversary cigar, that I enjoyed a lot more.
