Padrón Family Reserve No. 46 Maduro stands out for using ten year aged Nicaraguan tobaccos in a 5 1/2 x 56 trunk pressed robusto extra, the largest ring gauge in the Family Reserve line. This full bodied Nicaraguan puro wears a dark Nicaraguan Habano Maduro wrapper over matching binder and filler, delivering dense layers of dark chocolate, espresso, earth, hearty wood, toast, and anise with accents of black pepper, dried fruit, and molasses. Construction is exemplary, with a firm, toothy, chocolate brown wrapper, easy draw, and even burn that allow the rich cocoa and coffee core to build gradually while sweet spice and herbal notes linger on the long finish.
Released in 2010 to celebrate 46 years of Padrón cigar making, No. 46 Maduro showcases some of the finest vintage tobaccos from the family’s own Nicaraguan farms, all aged a minimum of ten years. Handcrafted and box pressed at Tabacos Cubanica in Estelí, it remains a favourite among seasoned aficionados who want a bold yet refined Maduro driven by dark chocolate, espresso, cedar, spice, and subtle dried fruit complexity in a slightly shorter, thicker format.
