The Plasencia Alma del Fuego Candente is a box pressed 5 x 50 Robusto in which about 75 percent of the tobacco comes from Ometepe, an island formed by two volcanoes. The Ometepe leaf makes up the majority of the binder and filler, and a dark, sun grown Jalapa wrapper covers the blend. The cigar is a Nicaraguan puro from Plasencia’s own estates.
The smoke opens with coffee, cedar and a touch of black pepper, with mineral and dried fruit notes on the cold draw. As it burns, nutty tones and mocha build in the middle, and tangerine, cashew and a hint of guava wood come through behind them. The pepper and mineral notes rise in the final third, and the cigar stays medium to full bodied without becoming harsh.
The box press gives the 5 x 50 a slightly squared shape and a cool, even draw. It is hand rolled with long filler at the Plasencia factory in Nicaragua. The box of 10 doubles as an ashtray.

Amazing cigar. Possibly the best Robusto I have ever had. Pricing is the same or cheaper than the USA, which is nice to see for a change. I love every Plasencia I have tried to date.
Also, delivery took 2 days. Ordered late on a Monday, shipped on the Tuesday and I received shipment Wednesday afternoon. And this seems to be the case for every order I place. Fantastic service.
