The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I is a 6 x 60 Hexágono, pressed into a six sided shape, with a Jalapa Colorado Claro wrapper aged for ten years. It is a Nicaraguan puro, with Nicaraguan binder and filler from Plasencia’s own estates. The lighter wrapper gives a tempered body compared with the darker original Alma Fuerte.
The smoke opens with cocoa and almonds, along with vanilla and a gentle earthiness. As it develops, nutmeg, cedar and sweet baking spice come through, and the finish is smooth, round and balanced. The profile is medium bodied, which makes it easy to enjoy at any time of day.
The hexagonal press gives the cigar sharp edges that make a distinctive shape in the hand. It also makes the 60 ring gauge easier to hold than a round cigar of the same size. Each cigar is hand rolled by Plasencia in Nicaragua, and the box of 10 is hexagon shaped and collectible.
