The Plasencia Reserva Original Toro is a 6 x 50 Nicaraguan puro made entirely from tobacco certified by the Organic Crop Improvement Association, which Plasencia calls the world’s first and only organic cigar. The wrapper, binder and filler come from the Estelí and Jalapa regions, and every leaf is aged an additional five years after curing and fermentation. No pesticides or insecticides are used in the blend.
The smoke is smooth and creamy, with notes of cedar, toasted bread, roasted nuts and caramel, and a touch of leather. Earth, cinnamon and sweet cream come through in the middle, and the finish carries nuts and cedar with a subtle spice. The strength is mild to medium, so this is one of the gentler cigars in the Plasencia range.
The classic 6 x 50 Toro burns evenly and takes about an hour or more to smoke. Each cigar wears a white and gold band and is hand rolled with long filler at the Plasencia factory in Nicaragua.
