Plasencia Year of the Horse Parejo Gordo

The Plasencia Year of the Horse Parejo Gordo is limited to 6,000 boxes worldwide and celebrates the 2026 Lunar New Year. Officially named El Año del Caballo, it uses an organically grown Nicaraguan wrapper from Jalapa over a Nicaraguan binder. The filler blends Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos, all grown and aged by the Plasencia family.

The flavour starts with oak, earth and a touch of cumin, then moves to cardamom, dark coffee and toasted walnut. It finishes with dark chocolate, prune and a hint of peat. The 7 x 58 Parejo Gordo has a long braided tobacco cap that resembles a horse’s mane. Making the braid takes an extra artisan and about twice the production time of a standard cigar.
