Oliva Serie V Torpedo is built around specially fermented Jalapa Valley ligero, delivering a full bodied Nicaraguan profile with rich coffee and dark chocolate depth balanced by a creamy texture. Handmade in Nicaragua, this 6 x 56 Torpedo uses a tapered head to concentrate the draw and let adult cigar smokers tailor the cut to their preferred airflow.
A high priming Ecuadorian Habano Sun Grown wrapper surrounds a Nicaraguan binder and aged Nicaraguan long fillers, including Jalapa ligero. The blend opens with black pepper, toasted espresso, and earth before developing dark chocolate, cedar, leather, roasted hazelnut, molasses, cocoa, baking spice, and natural sweetness. The pepper remains steady throughout, while the creamy core helps round out the cigar’s fuller character.

CIGAR LIFE (verified owner) –
Cold draw – Very pleasant, sweet tobacco and woodsy aroma. Fantastic aroma on the foot.
1/3 – On the initial light, this cigar delivers a gentle note of roasted sweet tobacco, nuts with a cashew texture and zero pepper. I am surprised this came out of Nicaragua (usually they are peppery). The finish lingers on the palate with a bit of tingle. 5 minutes into this cigar I decided to pair this with an Irish Whiskey Green Spot. Personally, I find the vibrant green apple, pear and malted barley would pair well with this fine cigar. The ash holds on strong but doesn’t have the stacked dimes effect. As I get to the end of this 1/3 I would say the strength and body is medium. I didn’t enjoy the retrohale too much.
2/3 – Transitioned into medium body with the same tasting profile but with more intensity. Need some touchup on the burn. During this journey I switched to Glenlivet 12 to match the intensity of this cigar. Also I noticed the sweet tobacco flavour subsided and replaced with leather note. This scotch added back the sweetness to this experience. If you like more brown sugar and caramel sweetness a good bourbon will do the trick.
3/3 – Transitioned to full body and full strength with an added hint of dark chocolate.
Overall – I lit this cigar with a soft flame on a cedar splint. The construction is superb with a razor sharp burn line for the first third. Nice oily shin on the cigar. Good construction with minor touchups. Personally, I would give it 92/100.
