AJ Fernandez New World Decenio Gordo

The wide 58 ring gauge of AJ Fernandez New World Decenio Gordo gives this cigar a slow, generous smoke, created to celebrate ten years of the New World line. A dark, oily Mexican San Andrés wrapper surrounds a Nicaraguan binder and a blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran long fillers. The soft box pressed shape and thick body make the cigar feel substantial in the hand, and the toothy wrapper has a deep, chocolate brown colour.

The opening draws bring dark cocoa, roasted coffee and leather, with a gentle sweetness from the San Andrés wrapper. As the cigar settles, earthy tones and black pepper build in strength. The larger ring gauge slows the burn and gives the blend more room to unfold, so the layers of espresso, spice and wood transition gradually. The result is a medium to full bodied smoke with a smooth, lingering finish.

Measuring 6 x 58, this Gordo is the largest format in the Decenio release and suits anyone who prefers a thick cigar and a longer, unhurried experience. It is made at the San Lotano factory in Nicaragua.
