Crowned Heads La Imperiosa Magicos is a Full strength 4 1/2 x 52 cigar with an Ecuador Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. It opens with a burst of red pepper and settles into a dense, brooding smoke.
It opens big with a burst of red pepper, then eases off the throttle and settles onto the palate with dense, multi layered notes of dark fruit, earth and charred meat. The flavour is at once dense and approachable, with a brooding, muscular structure.
La Imperiosa was originally a Cuban brand from the early 1900s, and its name translates to “the imperative”, or that which is absolutely necessary or required. The artwork and band were inspired by the original Cuban vista and band of years gone by. The wrapper is dark and strikingly oily, with a round, well made head, and the burn is even with an open draw that shows notes of dark toast and dried pine needle.

Starts with light cocoa, earth, medium body. Gets into light oak and super smooth retro. Finishes with light and woody oak and smooth retro. Not quite in my wheelhouse.

This cigar stars off with a bang and continues to get better the more you smoke. At the beginning there is a lot of leather, oak and pepper. Midway comes the fruit with continuation of the leather flavour. By the end, it becomes lighter with fruit, white pepper, and light oak. It is one of my favourites for the price, however I would not recommend for new cigar smokers
