I was disappointed, specially that others had raving reviews. It’s a well constructed cigar with good draw and even burn. As for the flavor, I found it lacking in subtlety. This cigar has an overwhelming harsh flavor. Not for me.

Ohhhhh, this is lovely! To my newbie palate, it’s mild-to-medium. I got cocoa, some cedar, I think — definitely wood-notes– mild spiciness, and sunshine. Yeah, I know, “sunshine” isn’t a taste — except to my brain, it is. I taste “sunshine” in the Agios Meharis Ecuador cigarillos, for example; there the sunshine dances across the tongue, bright and sparkly. Here, it’s more like late-morning sun, not quite noon-day strong, deep and warm and soothing. I didn’t get any cream or leather or much pungency — not a complaint, just an observation. Even draw and burn, even when outside in 8 degrees Celsius with drizzle and gusty winds. I found it goes better with black coffee than milky coffee; it’s not strong enough to stand up to milky coffee. A good hour-long smoke, at least. Oh, and if you oh-so-carefully peel away the Government of Canada’s dull-by-design label, you’ll find the beautiful original.
If you prefer a stronger, pungent cigar, this one might not be your thing. If you’re looking for a smoke that’s a little lighter, or more delicate, yet still unmistakably a lovely cigar, then you might really dig My Father Flor de las Antillas Robusto.
