La Galera 1936 Box Pressed El Lector Toro cigars pay tribute to Tabacalera Palma’s founding year with a rich, aromatic blend of estate grown Dominican tobaccos. Handcrafted by José “Jochy” Blanco in the Dominican Republic, this medium to full bodied 6 x 54 Toro has a square box pressed shape, an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Dominican Criollo ’98 binder and Dominican Piloto Cubano and Criollo ’98 long fillers.
The oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper creates an expressive profile of cedar, cocoa, leather and peppery spice. Dominican Criollo ’98 binder tobacco adds structure and earthy depth, while the Piloto Cubano and Criollo ’98 fillers provide espresso, roasted nuts, dark fruit and a creamy tobacco sweetness. The broad 54 ring gauge delivers a generous smoke volume, while the box pressed shape supports an even draw and deliberate burn.
The cigar opens with cedar, cocoa, cinnamon and red pepper before developing espresso, leather, earth and sweet dried fruit. A light citrus note and caramel like sweetness emerge through the middle, followed by a long finish of oakwood, coffee, subtle licorice and pepper. La Galera 1936 Box Pressed El Lector Toro pairs well with espresso, aged rum, bourbon, a rich amber ale or a medium to full bodied red wine.
