La Galera Anemoi Eurus cigars combine a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with estate grown Dominican tobaccos in a robust 5 1/2 x 48 Robusto Extra format. Named for Eurus, the Greek god of the east wind, this medium to full bodied cigar is handcrafted by José “Jochy” Blanco at Tabacalera Palma in the Dominican Republic.
The dark, oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper establishes a rich profile of dark chocolate, espresso, leather and sweet earth. A Dominican Corojo binder grown on the Jacagua farm adds structure and peppery spice, while Dominican Piloto Cubano and Criollo ’98 fillers from La Canela contribute cream, toasted nuts, cedar and a deep tobacco sweetness. The all Dominican core makes the blend balanced and aromatic despite its darker wrapper.
The cigar opens with dark chocolate, creamy oak and black pepper before developing espresso, leather, cinnamon and sourdough bread. A subtle plum sweetness and salted peanut note emerge through the middle, while cocoa, earth and pepper deepen toward the finish. La Galera Anemoi Eurus pairs well with espresso, aged rum, bourbon, a rich stout or a full bodied red wine.
