About Panter Cigars
The Panter cigars brand name is introduced in 1935. The Sumatra cigar factory chooses the Panter name because it is an animal that reflects the company image: it is strong and flexible; a sprinter that can take great leaps! Around the same time that Panter is introduced, a sensational discovery also sees the light of day: a method whereby paper can be used as a wrapper (homogenised tobacco leaf). This represents a turning point: 90% of all cigarillos in the world are still manufactured in this way.
