About Perla Del Mar Cigars
Perla del Mar cigars were first conceived in the late 19th Century to honor Cuba’s highly acclaimed cigar heritage. Because Cuba’s rich, fertile soil formerly created the most flavorful cigar tobacco in the world, Cuba was known as the Pearl of the Sea. Now, more than a century later, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. has recreated Perla del Mar, handmade in the J.C. Newman PENSA cigar factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Today’s Perla del Mar is a rich and flavorful tribute to its original Cuban blend.
Perla del Mar features special, hand-selected, aged binder and long filler tobaccos from three distinct regions in the lush mountains of Nicaragua. This unique blend is combined with a smooth, creamy Ecuadorian Shade or hardy Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper to provide a complex, but balanced, taste. Lastly, Perla del Mar cigars are box pressed to help the natural flavors of its unique tobaccos to marry together and deliver an extremely satisfying smoke.

Best cigars for the money. My personal favorite. Very consistent, great draw and smooth. After 4 boxes I can’t find anything that compares! Robusto is perfect size as well.

I echo the comments of the previous review. Fabulous cigar. Superb construction. Burned evenly and produced a ton of billowy smoke. Easy draw …. prolly the best draw I’ve ever had in a cigar. So smooth with great flavours. Worth a try. I’m hooked.

I’ve tried both the P and M. M is the perfect size. The burn, taste, draw and even appearance are perfect for my tastes. Never had an issue with any of the multiple i’ve tried. I’d say this leans more mild but still flavorful.

Cigar held together well, smooth smoke, earthy nut flavour progressively builds as you make your way to the end. Robusto is the right size for this cigar, had it while sitting around the campfire. Great relaxing smoke!

Fantastic cigar. Good construction, good draw, just a pleasure all around. Rich nutty flavor that evolves through the length of the smoke, truly peaking at 40-70% of the way through.

I received a few of the updated “Perla Del Mar Shade” blend, which is the revamped PDM cigar with a different band.
Regardless, these are super smooth and very flavourful cigars. They have a nice nutty, caramel taste and are very easy to smoke, not getting too peppery. These are very much worth the price.

Nicely rolled cigar. Too mild for my taste though. A bit pricey for what you get too.

For 10 bucks this is a great cigar. As mentioned in other comments, the draw is perfect to me on this one. Lots of nice flavorful smoke and a solid 45 minute burn. These get a regular spot in my humidor.

Just an update to my above review, I received more of these and they were different. The band was the one shown in the picture. Not as good-looser draw and an average smoke. So I prefer the blue and gold band ones, not sure if those are the old or new ones.

These are one of my two favourite cigars. 5 stars all the way. The only reason you wouldn’t like these is because they are mild. The ease of drawing a puff is effortless. The tobacco is good quality. I like these more then J C Newman’s Dimond crown cigars. Those are almost 3 times the price.
The J C Newman factory that makes these make a lot of cigars. I think the highest skilled tobacconists they have make these. They are not priced as such.
One of the best bang for your buck cigars out there.

Quality cigar. Good draw. Lots of smoke. Burns a little uneven but I’m being picky. Ash looks good. A little Spicy for the first third but smooths out nicely during the second third. Light to medium cigar. Flavor is Suttle so I would say Light bodies, I prefer full body cigars so I gave it 4 stars.

Seconding all the other reviews, it’s a really good stick. Good draw and burn, nice taste, generous size for the price ($10.10 as of writing); it even had the original band under the plain one. I’ll definitely pick up some more in the future.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy these cigars and I really wanted to. I found them to be rolled far too tight. I even purchased the perfecdraw tool; which worked very well and made them smokeable. However, even after using the tool I didn’t enjoy the taste. Too spicy and too much of a pepper flavour for my liking. If you enjoy those taste notes and can open the cigar draw with the perfecdraw, you may enjoy this cigar.
