Plasencia Alma del Cielo Amanecer

The Plasencia Alma del Cielo Amanecer is a 6 x 60 Hexágono, pressed into a six sided shape, and it uses filler tobacco grown at about 3,500 feet. Alma del Cielo means “Soul of the Sky,” and the blend is a Nicaraguan puro, with wrapper, binder and filler all grown on Plasencia’s Nicaraguan estates. The high elevation gives a softer, sweeter profile than many Nicaraguan blends.

The smoke opens with creamy marzipan and honey, with a touch of nougat. The middle brings cedar and earth, along with a hint of orange zest, and the finish builds to a gentle ginger spice that lingers. Reviewers also find roasted coffee, cocoa and baking spice along the way.

The hexagonal press gives the cigar sharp, defined edges and a distinctive feel in the hand. The 60 ring gauge keeps the smoke cool and slow burning. It is hand rolled at the Plasencia factory in Nicaragua.
