Yellow Bird by Aladino Aged 2.5 Years
- Size: 6 x 50
- Strength: Medium
Body: A combination of bourbon barrel and rawhide notes.
Foot: Dominated by bourbon barrel scents.
Cold Draw: Prominent bourbon barrel flavor.
Tasting Notes: Despite a firm draw, the cigar smokes amazingly. The first third boasts a bourbon essence paired with fresh-cut cedar, a delightful mix of roasted nuts, lime, and a savory sweetness akin to biting into a honey crisp apple. The rich, powdery smoke and black pepper make a remark- able impression. This cigar could be called “Caramel Covered Green Apple.”
The second third introduces green apple, caramel, cedar, bourbon barrel, and hints of baking spices along with an exotic touch of tamarind and white pepper. The retrohale and finish showcase cardamom, cedar, bourbon, and the cleanest white pepper, comple- mented by cloudy, creamy puffs of smoke. Notes of ripe plum and a hint of spiced rum on the finish enhance the experience.
In the final third, flavors of leather whipped cream, salt, lemon juice, baker’s spices, cedar, and white pepper envelop the palate. As you progress further, slight hints of cocoa cereal and tamarind emerge. The cigar concludes with a beautiful blend of tamarind, cedar, white pepper, and salt.
Pairing Notes: Black coffee with sugar, green tea, bourbon, aged rum, stout beer, roasted nuts, caramel apples, charcuterie board, aged cheeses, tamarind candies, grilled meats, citrus-based dishes.
